About the role

As a Backend Engineer at peopleIX, your main responsibility will be to design, develop, and maintain a scalable data backend to enable our customers to ingest data into our platform from a wide range of HR, Finance and other business systems – in other words: you will be the mastermind behind the backbone of our powerful people analytics platform.

In this role, you will:

  • Join our engineering team to develop the backend of our people analytics platform and shape the product in the early days
  • Develop and maintain API integrations with third-party systems in a scalable manner
  • Design and build a first-class approach to enable our customers to upload their data in any format in self-service
  • Structure data in a unified model to enable analyses, benchmarking and potential AI use cases
  • Contribute to our modern tech stack based on a serverless architecture running on AWS (Lambda, SQS, etc.) using TypeScript and/or Python
  • Have a significant impact on defining our culture, team, and way of working as we keep growing
  • Work closely with our CTO, Product, Data and other teams across peopleIX

Who are we looking for?

  • M.Sc., B.Sc., or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Engineering, or another relevant technical field
  • Motivated self-starter with a strong enthusiasm to learn
  • Strong expertise in different languages, ideally TypeScript and/or Python
  • Experience with API integrations at scale is a big plus
  • Experience with serverless technologies (e.g. AWS Lambda) and/or event-driven architectures is a plus
  • Experience with IaC is a plus
